FAQs

Investment: Therapy is an investment of time, energy and money in yourself. I ask clients to be invested in this process, as I will be equally committed to you. Sessions can occur weekly or every two weeks, depending on your needs and goals. This consistency maximizes the impact of the work and allows us to make progress more quickly towards your goals.

Payment/Insurance: The fee for a 53 minute session is $185USD. I am paneled with several insurance companies including: BCBS of NC, Aetna as well as the AETNA State Health Plan (BHAP). If you will be paying out of pocket, I can provide you with a “superbill” receipt that you can file with your health insurance company to attempt to be reimbursed for your sessions.

Sliding Scale Availability: As I feel strongly about making therapy more accessible, I offer sliding scale spots on my schedule, there may be a waiting list for these spots. Please be in touch for more information regarding this.

Electronic Health Record: I utilize an Electronic Health Record and billing software called TherapyAppointment. If we will be working together, you will be asked to create an account there so that you can access HIPPA secure messaging, upload your info and documentation, as well as your credit card info which I utilize when charging co-pays, self pay amounts, and missed appointment and late cancellation fees.

Telehealth Sessions: I offer telehealth sessions as well as in person sessions. I do ask that all clients become familiar with my telehealth platform so that we can shift there as needed due to travel or illness. My teletherapy platform can be found here: https://doxy.me/mjacksonlcsw

Intensive Sessions: EMDR Intensive Sessions range from 4-6 hours per day and are not covered by health insurance. There are varying costs for these appointments and we would need to discuss what may be right for you. Please reach out to explore further.

Cancellation Policy: Because I reserve your appointment slot for you, if you are not able to attend a scheduled session I require a 24 to 48 hour notification. If this notification is not made, you will be charged the full appointment fee. If you are feeling sick, I will ask that we shift our session to a telehealth appointment. If you will be more than 15 minutes late for our appointment we will need to cancel and reschedule, and you will be charged the full appointment fee.

Schedule: I am available during regular business hours by appointment only. Although I care deeply for my clients, I am not available 24 hours a day. If you are in a crisis and need immediate support please call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department In North Carolina. You can also contact Mobile Crisis which is a 24 hours a day/365 days per year, more info can be found here.
