FAQs:

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am paneled with several insurance companies including: BCBS of NC, Aetna as well as the AETNA State Health Plan

How do sessions work?

Therapy is a confidential, collaborative process where a trained professional helps you identify, understand, and change negative thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors. By providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment, it allows you to gain insights, build coping skills, and shift challenging patterns.

What commitment is required?

Therapy is an investment of time, energy and money in yourself. I ask clients to be invested in this process, as I will be equally committed to you. Sessions can occur weekly or every two weeks, depending on your needs and goals. This consistency maximizes the impact of the work and allows us to make progress more quickly towards your goals.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy is an evidenced based therapy that can alleviate distress from challenging memories and thought patterns. I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist.

How much do sessions cost?

The fees for therapy vary based on your insurance coverage, ability to pay self-pay fees, and availability of sliding scale openings as needed. For detailed pricing and packages, please contact me directly for more information.

How do I start the process of getting support?

To start the therapy process, simply reach out to me via the “Work with Me” page. We’ll schedule an initial consultation to discuss your goals, answer any questions, and determine the best plan tailored to your needs.

How do I know if therapy is working?

You’ll recognize the effectiveness of therapy through observable progress towards your goals. We will have time for reflection and feedback regarding progress towards your goals. I often use symptom screening questionnaires to quickly assess the presence and severity of symptoms. We can use these over time to keep track of these changes.
